Résumé

Abstract:

The objective of this article is to verify if there is a long-term relationship between the distribution of income and the growth under the constraint of the balance of payments, then to study the impact of the policy of redistribution of income on the growth rate, with a model theoretically based on Ribeiro et al. (2016), using data from a panel of 9 heterogeneous countries that are economically comparable with Morocco.

The empirical estimation of this study covers a period from 1980 to 2024. Through these time series, the work was carried out using the cointegration technique for the income elasticities of imports, based on the estimation of the global import request function.

The results show the existence of a long-term relationship at least in one direction and we see that the model is significant. According to the results, there is a positive long-term relationship between the variables and it is found that income distribution policies have a positive impact on the constrained growth rate of the balance of payments.
