The meaning of the word governance is complex and sometimes very basic, namely the art or manner of governing, a tool of government, administration, or even management. This is its oldest meaning, and it has no meaning for the classical term. Governance is a set of principles, rules and practices aimed at improving the functioning of the deliberative and governing bodies of institutions and public or private companies, as well as relations with shareholders and stakeholders. In particular, it contributes to improving the performance and transparency of these institutions for the development of all sectors.
Insofar as governance is an indicator to be achieved, it raises priority issues concerning the functioning and organization of political, administrative, economic and social systems, in accordance with the principles of the rule of law, democracy and human rights, and aimed at meeting the expectations of the population; specifying models of local political management of territorial governance to develop social and solidarity-based economies. Therefore, the social and solidarity economy is the set of economic and social activities organized within the framework of formal structures or groupings of natural or legal persons, with the aim of pursuing collective and social interests, in an autonomous way, with democratic and participative governance and with free membership.
The objective of this work is to study the impact of territorial governance on the strengthening of the social and solidarity economy in Morocco through an exploratory study based on a survey (quantitative approach), this study focuses on cooperatives in the Souss-Massa region
