Nowadays, all companies face new challenges that affect their internal operation’s mode and influence their external positioning. The strength of productivity and competitiveness of a company now lies in intangible factors rather than material means (creative capacity, know-how, ability to solve problems). Thus, setting up a process of forward-looking management of jobs and skills "FMJS" is important and even necessary for the survival of organizations. This approach, unrecognized by many managers, aims to ensure a better balance between existing skills and future jobs.
In this article, we will focus on the practical steps of this process. To do this, we will first show the importance of skills management in the current managerial context while emphasizing the definition of the concept of FMJS. Thereafter, we will detail this approach step by step to facilitate its implementation. Our main objective is to provide business leaders with a practical guide for deploying the FMJS approach.
