Financial markets in the age of digitalization and artificial intelligence: emergence and articulation

Digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI) have become an ever-increasing vector in many fields, and particularly in finance. Today, market development and growth depend on successful digital transformation. This research paper is based on the observation that digital transition is a major challenge for financial markets. This research adopts an exploratory methodology, based essentially on theoretical and technical investigation. The aim is to identify new financial techniques and methods from the perspective of AI and digital financial systems, enabling sustainable and innovative financial services within financial markets. The theoretical analysis developed argues that the world of finance is part of a continuous evolution marked by the internationalization of markets and the rise of AI and financial technologies (FinTechs). For some time now, financial markets have been in a continuous transition towards AI and secure financial services and transfers adopting the digital financial system (Blockchain, Big-data, Crypto-currencies, etc.). This paper seeks to discuss how AI harnesses and combines financial data and information with technological capabilities; and how it accelerates the process of digital transformation of finance to ensure efficient and innovative financial services by finally discussing, the context of the Moroccan financial market in the era of said digital transformation.
