Abstract

This article aims to analyze the main determinants of the promotion of renewable energies (ENRe) in Cameroon. To achieve this objective, we carried out an econometric study based on the VAR (Autoregressive Vector) model over the period 2002-2014. The empirical results show that the electricity supply, the level of CO2 emissions due to the electricity sector, and the quality of institutions have a significant effect on the promotion of renewable energies in Cameroon. On the other hand, the level of income per capita has no significant effect.
