Abstract

This article discusses the role of social perception for assessing the degree of social knowledge of the geomorphological potential and to understand the reality of the touristic practices of different stakeholders acting in the northeastern part of the M'goun regional geopark. To do this, we have adopted a quantitative methodology based on a statistical analysis of 400 questionnaires. Twenty-nine sites were identified thanks to their landscape quality, aesthetics and their use but is not necessarily due to their scientific value, because most of the actors surveyed are not informed about the concept of geomorphology and its scientific and educational value. However, its remarkable landscape interest has been exploited by certain local associations which reinforce the tourist attractiveness of this territory through the organization of hikes to different geotouristic places.
