The effect of SME manager characteristics on SME practices: Case of the Ziguinchor region

For a better resilience of times of crisis, well-integrated CSR is requested from SMEs. Also, the practice of CSR in SMEs depends on the characteristics of the manager. The objective of this study is to show that the characteristics of the leader influence CSR practices in the Ziguinchor region defined as a study area.
As part of the data analysis, we first have; developed and administered a questionnaire to 50 SME managers and from which we retained 35 respondents. Then, we completed with semi-structured interviews with these SME managers through a guide.
The methodology chosen is to make first, a qualitative study and then a quantitative study. The results show that characteristics play an important role in the practice of CSR, but they are mixed for training.
