Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has fostered a collective awareness of the environmental issue and accelerated a sustainable investment trend that has been established for several years.

Considered as one of the financial instruments that can play an important role in financing the transition to a sustainable and climate-friendly economy, the Green Bond market has shown strong resilience to the COVID-19 crisis reaching record levels of issuances.

This article discusses the evolution of the Green Bond market with a focus on the case of Morocco, a country heavily involved in a development process that promotes a balance between environmental, economic and social aspects.
